Dear Friend:
I am delighted to welcome you to Berlin for the Eighth Annual Interdependence Day Celebration and Forum. As you know, following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, a distinguished group of scholars, civic and political leaders, and artists from a dozen nations decided we had to acknowledge the inevitability and significance of interdependence in our time as the condition of our survival. Out of that meeting came the Interdependence Movement and our annual summits.
